Ayurvedic Yoga Massage Workshop with Despina

Neck, here Shoulders, side effects Head and Face

Home Studio in Mytholmroyd nr. Hebden Bridge

Saturday 28th January 2017, 12 – 4pm

We are incredibly pleased to be able to host Despina a good friend and highly skilled and experienced massage therapist for this afternoon workshop.

Learn a new skill which will be much appreciated by your friends, family and partners! Or find some new friends to swap massage with, or just enhance your existing practice with an insight on this wonderful method. You’ll receive some great massage and understand your better in the process!

In this workshop we will cover massaging the neck, head and face, and carrying out some relevant stretches. I often do this with my clients at the beginning and end of the massage as it’s so relaxing, and most people tend to tense their head and neck a lot. The next and head massage is extremely effective at releasing tension and at the same time one of the most enjoyable parts of the body to massage.

About Ayurvedic Yoga Massage

Ayurvedic Yoga Massage was developed by Master Kusum Modak in Pune, India. Kusum spent many years studying yoga with BKS Iyengar, and traditional ayurvedic massage with Master Lamaye Maharaj. AYM includes deep tissue oil massage, which warms up and softens tissues, followed by assisted yoga stretches, which look similar to thai massage stretches. It is a wonderful holistic system of massage, and Kusum has taught hundreds of students and developed a brilliantly effective, practical method for teaching a powerful sequence to new students in a relatively short period of time.

About Despina

Despina has been practising and studying AYM since early 2011 in Leeds, London and Mysore, India. She started assisting her teacher in 2014 and received his blessing to teach this method in January 2016.
