Sunday 29th October | 11am – 1.30pm
Join Rachel for this 2.5 hour Sunday morning workshop, where you will use pranayama (breathing techniques) and meditation to encourage introspection, stillness and an increased awareness of the connection between the body, mind and breathing process.
We will explore different meditation and reclining (lying down) pranayama techniques, allowing ourselves the time to enjoy their physical and mental effects. Each technique will be carefully guided to encourage you to awaken to your current experience of body and breath.
After our initial session of meditation and pranayama Rachel will guide you through a gentle sequence of active postures to reinvigorate your awareness of the body, and to allow for greater comfort in sitting meditation. This will be followed by gentle restorative postures to help you tap into a feeling of effortlessness.
From this place of effortlessness, we will move into our final period of pranayama and meditation, leading you towards deep inner stillness. Expect to feel uplifted, easeful and deeply relaxed.
This workshop is suitable for students of all levels. If you are not experienced at sitting meditation, that’s no problem, the periods of sitting will be short 20-30 minutes and you may change position when you need to. If you would prefer to sit on a chair that is also a perfectly good option but please mention this when booking.
