Come and spend a magnificent week with us delving into practice, connecting with old friends and making new ones!
The Mill Retreat Centre is set in 30 acres of stunning grounds. With a spectacular ten-acre lake, a beautiful river running underneath the centre and views of enticing woodland. 5 acres of the grounds are dedicated as a nature reserve to aid in vital conservation work, helping to ensure the continued survival and protection of many local species. All combine to make the Mill Retreat Centre a natural paradise for people and wildlife alike. Your free time can be spent swimming or boating in the lake, exploring the grounds on foot or by bike (available to hire, including tandems and electric bikes), bird-watching or letting yourself unwind next to the sparkling river. The mill makes use of hydro-electricity and is self-sufficient in energy, in fact, it is carbon positive, as it makes more than it produces. *Check out their website to see photos!* http://www.millretreatcentre.com/
All beds are made up with Egyptian cotton sheets, feather and down pillows (hyper-allergenic options) and lovely thick 100% wool blankets or thick warm Duvets.

The food will be delicious local seasonal and organic vegetarian food (including vegan options). This includes 2 or 3* delicious healthy meals per day plus tea/coffee, fruit, snacks, home-made cakes and biscuits to help yourself to during the day. Packed lunch is available for your journey home on Tuesday 2nd. * We are debating whether brunch and dinner would work better than 3 meals – will confirm soon.
The Mill Retreat Centre is surprisingly easy to get to. If you’re travelling from the UK, it’s only a 3 – 5 hour journey from London by train and car.
The centre also provide our own private private minibus pick-up service for up to 16 passengers (they can arrange travel for larger groups if there is lots of demand for the minibus). This will leave from East Croydon train station in London and take us directly to the centre (cost from London is £95 return per person). Book your place for the minibus by emailing Joey/Rachel and we’ll reserve your space – we expect this option to book up, so let us know sooner rather than later. Info on other travel options here.
(Timings are approximate until we have booked our eurotunnel crossing for the minibus.) Minibus collection will be around 10:30am in London – collection point is East Croydon train station and approximate arrival 6pm (French time) at The Mill. We will leave the mill at 11:30am and arrive at approximately 4:30pm UK time on Tuesday 2nd July.
For those not using the minibus, you are welcome to arrive at the centre any time on Wednesday 26th June (ideally by 6pm), so that everyone can have dinner together on the Monday evening and have a little opening ceremony after dinner. If you are arriving early enough to want lunch at the centre on the 26th, please let me know in advance and I can ask the centre to prepare this for you. The latest time for departure from the centre is 12 noon on Tuesday 2nd July. I would appreciate it if you let me know your estimated time of arrival at the centre.
On the evening of our arrival day, there will be a welcome session. The retreat schedule will include daily sitting meditation, daily morning mysore-style practice and afternoon workshops on four afternoons – these will involve elements of alignment-based postural practice, restorative yoga, pranayama, meditation and contemplation. There will be free time in the middle of the day to relax, plus one day when you are free to explore after morning practice and breakfast.
Suitable for anyone who has a committed self-practice and is confident with the order of the poses for most of the first half of the Ashtanga primary series. Get in touch if you’re unsure!
Bookings will be taken by us directly, please email: email@example.com to book your room (please specify preferred room type) and your place on the minibus.
We would like a deposit of £250 upon booking + your £95 minibus fee (if you want to take the minibus) and the full amount to be paid by 15th May 2024. You are welcome to pay the full balance when you book, if you prefer. Payment details will be supplied when you email to book your space.
