An Ashtanga Yoga Workshop with Joey Miles and Rachel Woolhouse
at The Yoga Space
A Day Exploring Extensions of the East (Lengthening the front of the body.)
The Morning will begin with guided sitting meditation to create a mood of stillness and ease.
Then through preliminaries and standing poses we aim to welcome in the poses to come – the idea being to feel our way into the back body rather than expressing the pose with outer dynamism.
Expect to come away with new and effective techniques to practice backhanding with skill and enthusiasm.
The afternoon will include guided contemplation and small group discussion (Bring a pen and paper or journal.) This offers the chance to reflect on the motivations, meaning and purpose behind yoga practice which renews our commitment to the path of yoga.
The day will finish with recuperative poses and supine pranayama.
(Please only bring a light snack for lunch.)
Suitable for anyone who has been practising Ashtanga regularly for 1 year or more. If you’re not sure, don’t hesitate to drop us a line: email@example.com .
What to Bring
Please bring a journal and a pen, as well as a light vegetarian lunch.
