Join Joey for this monthly class. The class begins with a 30-minute guided sitting meditation followed by Mysore Style Self-Practice. Beginning the practice with sitting meditation can help to set a mood of calm, focus and ease before we begin our postural practice.
Mysore Style Self Practice is the traditional way to learn Ashtanga Yoga. In a Mysore class, you learn the sequence of postures (asana) through individual instruction from the teacher. The sequence is learned gradually over time. This incremental method of learning enables you to develop the focus, strength and flexibility to prepare you for the next posture whilst also memorising the sequence.
As Joey is now only teaching in Leeds once a month, he wants to try and share his attention evenly between the people attending, as such, this event is not open to beginners. To attend, we ask that you have a consistent, regular practice and have memorised up to Marichyasana A in the Primary Series. Feel free to get in touch if you’re unsure about suitability.
