Ashtanga Yoga Leeds provides yoga instruction through various forms, whether they be yoga classes, private classes, immersions, workshops, holidays or retreats. While we endeavour to share the yoga practice in a way which is accessible to a wide range of students, we do live in a world of commerce where we provide a service and you pay for that service. As such, we have to adhere to a code of terms and conditions so that you are able to know where we stand in regards to the exchange we have.
Please read below and keep checking back, as these terms are regularly reviewed.
The issue of a 10 class pass upon payment will redeem you with 10 classes to attend within a period of 2 calendar months. These classes can be taken anytime within the 2-month timeframe and the card becomes active once you have attended your first class. The issue of a 5 class pass upon payment will redeem you with 5 classes to attend within a period of 1 calendar month. These classes can be taken anytime within the 1-month timeframe and the card becomes active once you have attended your first class. Upon payment for a class pass the card is not refundable. Where class is closed for Easter/Christmas/Summer holidays, the pass expiry date will be extended by the number of weeks that is equal to the duration of the closure period of class.
In particular circumstances, we can offset classes against future sessions. These circumstances require the production of a verified doctors/therapist certificate. If you do not attend within that time the card becomes invalid. Attendance for these classes is monitored by Ashtanga Yoga Leeds and you will be kept informed of your attendance by checking your AYL card that is stamped at the end of each class.
Payment for unlimited monthly classes should be set up as a monthly standing order to the following account:
Please note this is valid only for Ashtanga Yoga Leeds weekday Mysore classes at The Yoga Space.
If you do not attend 3 times a week during the month you have paid for, in particular circumstances, we can offset classes against future sessions. These circumstances require the production of a verified doctors/therapist certificate.
For workshops at our home studio in Mytholmroyd, we will provide a full refund (less 10% admin fee) to those who cancel 28 days before the workshop commences. After this time, there will be no refund unless your place can be secured from a waiting list, in which case your fee will be refunded (less a 10% admin fee). Should the event be cancelled by Ashtanga Yoga Leeds you will be offered a refund. For workshops held at The Yoga Space or other venues, please refer to the workshop cancellation policy of the venue/organiser.
Due to teacher cancellations, low bookings or other situations outside of our control, some courses may be temporarily or permanently unavailable. We reserve the right to make any changes to our programme, courses or teachers. Alternative arrangements are offered to the best of our ability but, if not taken up, we do not accept responsibility for any costs incurred, including travel costs.
We ask that you tell the teacher if you have any particular pre-existing injury or illness that is relevant. We advise that if you are feeling any pain or illness during any class you should stop and rest.
Upon application of a holiday/retreat, payment of a non-refundable deposit is required. There will be no contract between parties until the deposit for the relevant retreat/holiday has been paid. Each holiday/retreat will have a payment schedule relevant to it and these will be detailed on the website where the booking takes place. Please note that payment schedules may differ for different retreats/holidays. Failure to comply with the payment schedule may incur the right of the venue/organiser to cancellation of your booking.
If booking for the retreat/holiday is directly through Ashtanga Yoga Leeds rather than through a booking website for a retreat venue, and payment for the retreat/holiday is by bank transfer, please put your family name as the transfer reference and email us a confirmation of the transfer.
Those who wish to attend a holiday/retreat but cannot make the whole retreat will still need to pay the full retreat/holiday fee, unless otherwise stated.
It is down to you to make sure that you can attend the course in full when you book, or attend to the terms that have been set with the payment schedule you have. We understand that there are times where you may be unable to attend once payment has been made and we will look at these situations sympathetically. In this regard, if your place(s) can be given to someone on the relevant retreat/holiday waiting list, then we will refund you the fee (less 10% admin fee of the whole retreat/holiday). If a replacement can’t be found then AYL will retain the deposit(s) attributed to the payment schedule. Cancellation of your booking should be confirmed and notified by email.
Please refer to the cancellation policy of the venue for retreats/holidays where booking is made directly through the website of the venue.
Ashtanga Yoga Leeds highly recommends taking out the relevant insurance for your holiday/retreat.
It is down to the individual to book and pay for the relevant fights/travel that get the individual to the retreat/holiday for the start date. Ashtanga Yoga Leeds are not responsible for the times and prices of the flights.
We may at times give individuals details of flights that others are partaking in, for the benefit of companionship or ease of travel. This is done in good faith and for the benefit of all concerned. We do not, however, take any responsibility in the culmination of this action and the subsequent terms attributed to the individuals involved.
All costs (unless otherwise stated) include, accommodation in a shared room (unless single occupancy supplement is paid), daily brunch and dinner (unless otherwise stated) and all yoga tuition. Costs not included are flights, insurance, airport transfers, wellbeing activities (massage, etc.) and any extra-curricular activity (local trips, boat trips etc.).
Ashtanga Yoga Leeds does not accept liability for theft or damage to personal possessions; personal injuries or medical conditions that develop during or after the retreat. We are not liable for any cost incurred as a result of fire, natural disaster, war or threat of war, industrial action, technical problems with transport, airport closure or any other relevant events beyond our control.
Individuals participate in Ashtanga Yoga Leeds retreats/holidays entirely at their own risk and parents carry the sole responsibility for their children.
Wherever possible you will be advised in advance of any alterations.
